Word for the Day: Anamnesis

Anamnesis /an·am·nee'·sis/ (Greek:αναμνησις; literally "loss of forgetfullness") 1. a patient's medical history. 2. remembrance, recollection. 2. Plato's theory that the eternal soul is the source of all knowledge, and that learning is really "unforgetting" what was lost by the shock of incarnation. 4. in church, the part of the Eucharist where the Passion, Resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus are remembered.

from wikipedia and R Crumb on PK Dick. And yes, it started with boing boing. Posted by spot at January 17, 2006 04:13 PM
