Using 64-bit Vista (with UAC off), the Electric Sheep installer does not place the .scr in the system32 folder. In fact, though the install points at "c:\windows\system32\electricsheep" by default, that folder is never created. I have to manually open the setup file with 7-Zip and extract the .scr to get it to work. This doesn't seem to be a problem with the sheep client specifically; there's another screensaver I tried installing which also failed to actually install anyways. Aha, now I get it. 64-bit Vista puts things in C:\windows\syswow64 when they're installed by a 32-bit application. Windows also can't see that folder when bringing up its list of screensavers. Posted by: Consumed_Crustacean at December 12, 2007 01:14 PM
