Every stream teems with tadpoles and fish. The water is good to drink, there are no parasites and giardia.

Cicadas wail and click, our feet rustle the leaves. Occasionally birds chatter or gibbons call "whoop whoop". We saw a small deer-like creature. Frequently we pass elephant dung.

We heard a loud snarl and bark, a crashing and snapping, then silence. Not sure how far away it was but the guides said it was a bear. No one wants to investigate.
