The sheep in question was designed by KitChaos one of the top genetic designers. An hour later Dave Dodge replied with a link to the missing sheep and some relatives. Posted by spot at February 16, 2005 10:38 PM

Wow...I love the Sheep. The Sheep are just phenomenal to me. I have never seen anything like this before. Wow!!! I have sent the link for Electric Sheep to all of my friends who are unique. We become mesmerized. Posted by: Samantha at June 20, 2005 08:39 AM
how do you know what number a sheep is, and also, how do you create sheep? Posted by: Ben at August 1, 2005 08:56 PM
you can see the number of the sheep on the server status page. On the Mac OSX version you can press 's' and see the ID number of the current sheep. on the other versions you can find a file called "id" in the cache directory that has the ID numbers of the most recently played sheep. You can create sheep with Apophysis. Posted by: spot at August 2, 2005 12:11 AM
Reading the email by Moksha 2/25/2005 about falling in love with a now dead sheep got me worried. I, too, am new to Electric Sheep and am really very fond of several of my current flock. So, I've started making copies of the files and placing them in another folder to hopefully retain them. But how can I play them other than from my original folder as my screen saver? I am running OSX Tiger. Also, I couldn't access sheep 8915 from the link given. Thanks, Cara Posted by: Cara at February 13, 2006 01:35 PM
Yeah, I think that v2d5.sheepserver.net is not the sheepserver any more. Try: http://v2d6.sheepserver.net/cgi/dead.cgi?id=8915 It is very super busy, though. Posted by: S. M. Das at May 17, 2006 09:19 AM
Dead sheep are deleted from the computer!? how dare they do that to my sheep! they need an option that prevents the deletion of sheep! I have a 160 GB HD and it is all for my sheep! Posted by: traisjames at October 5, 2006 08:49 PM
there is, just set your cache size to 0. of course if you like the sheep you should back them up like any other data just in case of bugs or accidents. Posted by: spot at October 5, 2006 08:58 PM
