Graffiti Archeology in NYTimes
My friend Cassidy has been obsessed with alphabets, writing, and graffiti his whole life. After years of photographing graffiti walls around San Francisco, Cassidy struck upon the brilliant idea of assembling his shots taken at different times and of different parts of a wall and making it
browsable. The result is
Graffiti Archaeology and last month he won a
Webby Award for it. And today the NYTimes has taken up
the story.
Go Cassidy!

There’s this amazing book called “Paris Underground” that’s like a cross between a photographic record of a perfectly-preserved archeological site of modern urban culture and a contemporary design/typography book replete with graffiti, sculptures, & old signs!
Apparently, beneath the streets of Paris there are hundreds of miles of old out of use tunnels and quarries that for 300 years (!) have served as a literally underground art scene. Who would’ve known?!
